Before the Storm

Yesterday afternoon, a line of strong thunderstorms moved its way through the Midwest dotting the Doppler with warning boxes of red and yellow as it gusted its way through the heartland. While most people associate thunderstorms with angry gray skies, I always look forward to how the landscape looks in the minutes before the storm hits. The colors pop against the darkening skies, achieving a rich saturation unattainable on sunnier days. Luckily I grabbed my camera to capture them before the deluge washed the moment away.
